Dear parents and students,
The year has just flown by, and we are more than midway through 2020. As the province cautiously moves through phase three, being away from the dojo for five months has been an interesting experience.
Thank you for your patience through these unprecedented times. I apologize for the delay in my reply to some of your emails as we all work our way back into navigating through the concerns and protocols brought about by COVID-19. As I had intended to write this e-Newsletter to you, and as I awaited news and information from the Recreation Centre, I hope that through this little newsletter, some of your questions will be answered regarding regular classes and the Aikido Warriors' Camp.
At this point, we are uncertain as to what form or directives we will receive for classes in the Fall. As.we begin another Summer, with all the programs operating in a restricted manner, the regular adult and youth classes that we normally schedule in July have been cancelled. From September, we hope to resume adult and youth classes during the week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays again. However, the youth and under 7-year old classes on Saturdays will not continue. If there is a demand for a class for children under 7 years old, I will explore the possibility of offering one during the week, depending on the availability of the Dojo and the COVID-19 protocols at that time.
Coming up at the end of July, a modified version of the Aikido Warriors' Camp will be offered. It will be a more controlled version of our normal camp program with scaled back activities, and a limited enrolment of 16 participants, to comply with the current protocols. The camp information is as follows:

Due to current protocols, there are only 16 spots for the camp this year.
Please bring your ID to sign in your child in the morning.
If your child is unwell, coughing, or sniffling, they will not be allowed to join in the camp.
Pick up is from 3:30pm onwards as we will have to disinfect the premises and equipment, as per provincial guidelines.
Your understanding is appreciated.

Thank you as always for your interest in Aikido; and your patience especially in these challenging times as I tried to reply to your emails as best as I could. Enjoy the sunnier days, and if I do not see you until the Fall, or beyond, be well, be safe, and stay healthy.
