Ueshiba Aikido Victoria

The academic year ended well with our annual demonstration and potluck...

Celebrating another successful year of Aikido practice in Victoria, it was an occasion to
express appreciation to all students and their parents for their support and interest in Aikido.
It was also a means for students to demonstrate what they have learnt to their parents, guests, and friends.

During the introduction, Rafael Sensei expressed gratitude
to the Principal of Gordon Head School who was present, Mr Brent Kelly,
for being instrumental in initiating the first Aikido class at Gordon Head School in March 2004.
This was followed by a brief acknowledgement of students from that first Aikido class who are still with us.

The Demonstration

Students from the different grade levels then gave a demonstration of basic movement and
techniques to give all present an idea of what happens during an Aikido class.
This was followed by a series of techniques, jo and bokken kata,
tachi-dori, multiple attacks and a "skit".
