Dear parents and students,

Congratulations to the students who recently passed their grading tests. Well done!

Ah, the long summer days. Lovely. Happy Summer!

I know that the weather has been a little cool and wet in Victoria, but that does not take away the feeling that it is warmer, a little more relaxing, topped off with lovely long days, and opportunities to work around the house and in the garden.

It will be a short 8 class cycle this summer; truncated to having them twice a week from Tuesday, 9th July to Thursday, 1st August, as Mrs. Oei and I will not be around during part of August. I do enjoy making the summer classes a little different though, and as usual, we will fine-tune our skills and personal form for the weapons that we use - namely the Jo and the Bokken. The normal grade-level syllabus takes up most of our time during regular classes.

I am also looking forward to the Aikido Warriors' Camp. The camp is scheduled from Monday, 22 July to Friday, 26 July.

Please remember to come dressed with (long) gym pants, with bottled water, a snack, lunch, and jogging shoes for the morning's program. There will be forms to fill from Saanich, so please ensure all the forms are completed and submitted. Signing your child(ren) in and out of the camp will be mandatory. If you are going to arrange for someone other than yourself (parents) to pick your child(ren), then please personally introduce them to us. In previous years, Saanich required ID cards to be shown as well.

Here is the schedule for the Summer Cycle of 2024.
