Dear parents and students,
How quickly time has flown. As I write this, we are more than halfway through summer.
Congratulations are also due as today, Sunday, 20 July 2025 at 3 am, our longtime student, Mitchell and his wife, Erika, welcomed their first child, a son, Joseph Lai Gaucher! Blessings to their new family!
We are also beginning our Aikido Warriors' Camp from tomorrow, Monday, July 21; our 21st Aikido Warriors' Summer Camp. Thank you to everyone who has signed up for the camp.
The camp is from 9 am to 3 pm from tomorrow until Friday, 25.
Aikido continues to be a very personal journey. I will always do my best to guide everyone through each movement, technique, and the art of Ukemi that includes the breakfalls and learning to follow through to recreate the conditions of the flow of the energy and nature of different encounters and attacks. Like the spirit and nature of "Aiki", be patient with the learning process and the progress between us, the teacher and the student. The importance of being sensitive, to be aware, to be conscious, and to listen contributes to the understanding of each applied technique. When the practice is focussed, intentional, and sincere, it cannot help but colour and influence the other areas and aspects of ourselves and our lives.
Thank you for your trust and for sharing this journey with me.
Here is the schedule for the rest of 2025.
