Dear parents and students,
I trust you are well, and that you had a meaningful
Thanksgiving.
Here we are in the middle of Autumn. The first Fall cycle of Aikido classes is drawing to a close this week. It was lovely to see familiar faces, and to welcome new students too. Thank you to all the students and parents who have been so supportive, and who have helped to make the first cycle such a cautious success. The next cycle of classes begins from
Tuesday, November 3, 2020.
We will continue to practice with weapons for our classes. The first cycle concentrated on the Jo (four foot staff), and it was wonderful to watch and witness students progressing and improving through the Suburi and Kata patterns steadily. We were also able to practice some techniques in a 'touchless' manner, and introduced Jo Dori to the mix as well. Face masks are optional. You are welcome to put on your face mask throughout the class. Please do not attend your class if you feel unwell, or are sneezing or coughing. Please also remember to wash or sanitize your hands before and after class, and refrain from touching your face. The mats and weapons will continue to be sanitized after every class.
With the continued need to sanitize and in keeping to a safe distance from one another, classes will remain limited to only 12 students per class. As such, slots have filled up quickly for the next cycle of classes, and the adult classes are now full. There are spots available for the youth classes, so register as soon as you are able.
