| Dear parents and students,
Thank you for a most enjoyable autumn class cycle, and thank you all for your well wishes, and gifts. It is most appreciated. What a wonderful start to winter! One of the few times Victoria has received so much snow. Since we arrived twenty years ago, we've always been told about the great blizzard of 1996 in Victoria, when the snow reached at least six feet, and front doors were totally blocked: so we were told. Not quite the same this time around, and the white landscape is beautiful, though cold. We have no regrets settling in Victoria, and British Columbia. It is gorgeous here, and the people are just awesome.
A grading test was conducted in August, and we congratulate Lucas and Miller on obtaining their 11 kyu, Emma for her 5th kyu, and Yasmine on her 3rd kyu. This past year, we were also able to link directly with Aikikai Hombu Dojo; enabling me to continue to conduct yudansha level tests in our dojo. Congratulations, all!
Once again, I continue to remain grateful to you and your families for sticking in there as we re-emerged onto a more regular class cycle, with the lifting of COVID restrictions earlier this year. Your interest, enthusiasm, and support has kept us going. The reality remains that without you, there would be no dojo, and no community.
